Casing

The casing has been placed. We have an official hole in the ground.

The drillers will be working late again tonight, but not all night this time. They anticipate being done tonight by 8 if the weather holds.

I found an excellent article that gives a general explanation of water well drilling.

Well Drilling

There has been some confusion as to what "Boil Water Notification" means. It means exacting as stated in the notice, drinking, cooking, making ice requires boiled water. Laundry, bathing, etc...continues as normal.

The new well is now at 440 feet. We had 1 day of delay due to the water line that was ruptured.

Boil Water Notice

April 4, 2011

Public Notice to Boil Water

Due to a line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system Southlake Park Services, Inc. to notify our customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchace bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, you may contact Joel Getz at joel@getzteam.com or 817.783.2121
